Fanjiabu Village underwent a significant transformation during the Village Reconstruction Scheme in Taiyuan City. By the end of 2016, all the residents had moved away, and countless rural homes were demolished. I hold deep connections to this village, where my family lived at No. 34 Second North Street.

I wasn’t there when our house was torn down. Being far from my hometown, it felt as though the entire village disappeared in an instant, as if it was erased overnight. The suddenness of it all left me with a profound sense of loss, as if a part of my history had been taken away without warning.
